Crimināl, adj. et adv. aus dem Lat. criminalis, welches aber nur in einigen Zusammensetzungen üblich ist. Das Criminal-Gericht, ein Gericht, welches die Verbrechen der Übelthäter untersucht, im Gegensatze der Civil- oder bürgerlichen Gerichte, das Halsgericht; die Criminal-Jurisdiction diese Gerichtsbarkeit; Criminal-Sachen, welche dahin gehören, welche Leib- und Lebensstrafen betreffen, im Gegensatze der Civil- und bürgerlichen Sachen, peinliche Sachen; S. Bürgerlich. Wenn dieses Wort außer der Zusammensetzung gebraucht wird, so lautet es gemeiniglich criminếll. Die Sache ist criminell. Eine Sache criminell behandeln.
