Regulär

Regulǟr, -er, -ste, adj. et adv. aus dem Latein. regularis. 1) Der Regel gemäß, regelmäßig; im Gegensatze des irregulär. Ein reguläres Verfahren, ein regelmäßiges. Reguläre Truppen, im Kriege, welche auf einem gewissen regelmäßigen Fuße stehen, im Gegensatze der irregulären. 2) Gleiche Theile habend; so wird es in der Baukunst oft für symmetrisch, und Regularität für Symmetrie gebraucht. In engerer Bedeutung ist in der Geometrie ein Körper oder eine Figur regulär, wenn alle Seiten und Winkel einander gleich sind. Ein reguläres Viereck, im Gegensatze eines irregulären.
